About Me

Early in my career as an engineer, I had the opportunity to go to middle and high school campuses and teach students how to apply math in the real world.

From the first day, I loved it.

I loved planning interactive exercises for students and experimenting with approaches that engaged their curiosity.

I loved watching things ‘click.’  I loved hearing feedback from the students that they looked forward to my lessons and ‘actually’ enjoyed math.

I was hooked on teaching for life.

I began to focus my roles on education. I trained teams, wrote courseware, and designed educational programs.

I traveled the US and internationally teaching new approaches to teams of software engineers, and I taught courses at UC San Diego.

As my career progressed, I worked more with business owners and executives, helping them improve their businesses using new processes, technology, and professional services.

When I had kids, my focus in life changed dramatically.

I once again became fascinated with education when my kids reached school age. I loved volunteering in their classrooms, and I also worked as a substitute teacher. I found myself gravitating toward special education classrooms.

I grew to love working with students who have unique learning challenges.

Over the years, I met many frustrated parents, and I began helping them work through their students’ school problems.

I couldn’t believe what a difference it made.

Inspired by an advocate who touched my own family’s life, I decided to obtain training and certification as a special education advocate.

Designing and implementing effective educational programs is my passion.  Working with teams to overcome challenges and find solutions is my strength.

Let me help you find the sweet spot for your student.
